Creative Coach – Innovation Manager – Communication Architect – Media Pioneer

Klaus Haasis has been CEO of MFG Baden-Württemberg since its establishment in 1995. Today, MFG enjoys a reputation as one of Europe’s leading innovation agencies. Mr. Haasis can look back on more than 30 years experience in the creative industries and the ICT sector. Amongst other things, he introduced computer animations to German industrial films in the early eighties, realised numerous software aided applications shortly after the invention of interactive videotex and set up the first regional television broadcasting station in Baden-Württemberg on behalf of SAT.1 at the beginning of the nineties.

Klaus Haasis was quick to recognise the importance of clusters for a region’s competitiveness and first began building networks and cluster initiatives back in the midnineties, for example for visual computing and open source. In 2008, the Baden-Württemberg: connected IT and technology network of which he is co-founder won the top prize in the German Competence Network competition organised by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.

After training as a reproduction photographer and advertising manager, Mr. Haasis graduated from Stuttgart Media University with a degree in Media Technology as well as from the University of Hohenheim with a second degree in Journalism. Following reunification, he engaged in research into journalism in the former East Germany, was a pioneer of the Baden-Württemberg Pop Akademie, and prepared and supported the merger of the Technical Colleges for Printing & Media and Librarianship as Stuttgart Media University. He is in demand as a speaker, lecturer, author and consultant on economics, sociology, politics and science.
