You may use the portal at any time without registering. However, some of the services on the portal require prior registration, for example: booking events, searching for service providers or commenting on articles.
While you are using the portal, our servers collect general technical information that enables the service to operate, such as browser type, monitor size, operating system used, the IP address of your computer, which pages of the MFG portal you have accessed, and the time and length of your visit.
Account and Profile
You need an account to use the full range of services offered. To make access easier for you, we offer a two-tier system of free accounts.
For a basic account, we collect details from you including a user name, a password chosen by you, first name, last name, your email address and, if applicable, the name of the company you work for or manage, the industry, your position and your department.
For a premium account, you are asked to complete additional required fields. These include your main areas of interest, the website address of your company (if applicable) and number of employees in the company, your address details and a billing address, if different.
We need this to enable access to our personalised services, premium services and the booking of events or services for which there is a charge.
In addition to entering your details for your account, you can choose to add more details in your personal profile and share this information with other users of the portal.
The data you provide will be stored and processed by Medien- und Filmgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg mbH to obtain a more accurate picture of our users and better tailor our services to users. It also helps Medien- und Filmgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg mbH to offer you more specific services on the portal and by email.

As part of the registration process, you agree that these details (user-related, usage and content data) may be collected, stored and used by us in order to provide customer care, analyse user behaviour, tailor our services according to need and also for personalised advertising on the MFG website and by email.
You also agree that your chosen user name will be visible to all users of the portal and may be shown in connection with other users or events as a result of existing links or a bookmark function.
We will keep a record of your consent to data collection and storage. If required, we will be happy to advise you when and how you gave your consent.
