Regional competition InternetDorf
The regional competition InternetDorf has been announced for the first time in 1999. Organisers were the Academy Rural Regions Baden-Württemberg, the Community Council Baden-Württemberg and MFG. The goal of the competition was to enhance the quality of municipal websites, the development and the divulgence of innovative Internet services and IT applications as well as the support of the extension of e-government within the councils.
Every year the best Internet offer has been awarded with 7,500 euros. Other prices have been assigned in the categories “Best e-government offer”, “Best community”, “Best web design”, “Best website accessibility” and “Innovation of the year”.

| Project aim | Baden-Württemberg has been positioned as leading IT and media location in Europe, especially in the division e-government. A top position in the division of communal online offers was achieved with the divulgence of exemplary Internet solutions. The competition also strengthened the media skills of citizens and representatives in public administration. Thereby Baden-Württemberg maintained its position as a knowledge location in global competition. |
