DIGITRANS – Digital Transformation in the Danube Region

The project "DIGITRANS – Digital Transformation in the Danube Region" analyses how innovation methods can promote the development of new business models that are flexible enough to easily adapt to the constantly changing market conditions. Currently there exists a variety of approaches to develop innovative, digital business models, e.g. Design Thinking, Business Model Canvas or Blue Ocean Strategy. Within DIGITRANS a new method uptaking these approaches will be developed and tested to address the specific needs of small and medium sized companies as well as start-ups. In cooperation with 17 partners from 9 countries from the Danube region learning materials will be developed and incorporated into an e-learning platform. Furthermore, face-to-face trainings will be offered to SMEs within the partner regions.

Project aim
  • Development of a SME appropriate innovation method (DIGITRANS method) enabling SMEs to create competitive digital business models
  • Establishing incubator spaces in the partner regions based on the new developed DIGITRANS method
  • Development of targeted online learning material and a method tool box to be integrated into an online-learning platform
  • Empowering SMEs with the relevant skills to handle the digital transformation process successfully by offering blended learning trainings in connection with a flexible online learning environment
MFG's role MFG is project coordinator of DIGITRANS. Furthermore, it will contribute to the development and adaptation of the DIGITRANS method to address especially the Creative Industries needs. In this respect, MFG will also support the business incubator realising the regional roll-out of DIGITANS method. MFG will also play a leading role in the development of a blended learning training concept and will conduct and offer face-to-face trainings to SMEs as well as to innovation consultants in Baden-Württemberg
