Route 2.0
The project Route 2.0 aims to promote the use of web 2.0 tools in the tourism sector. Social Media offers especially companies from the tourism sector a large range of opportunities to spread information and to make clients from all over the world aware about their touristic specifications. Route 2.0 is going to develop a training programme for SMEs working in the tourism sector to strengthen their knowledge in the use of web 2.0 for marketing and communication issues. The training programme is based on a regional needs analysis carried out in Winter 2011/2012 in the four partner regions (Extremadura (ES), Baden-Württemberg (D), Cyprus, Friesland (NL)) to identify the concrete needs, trends and barriers in the use of web 2.0 in the tourism sector.
Parallel to offering a training programme a collaborative online platform will be developed which SMEs from the tourism sector can use to deepen their knowledge in the use of social media for marketing and communication purposes.
Route 2.0 is funded by the European Commission within the framework of the Lifelong Learning Programme.
