Open Culture BW

Open Culture BW promotes freely accessible and reusable cultural data (digitized and digital born artefacts) in Baden-Württemberg. On the one hand Open Culture BW wants to increase the use of such datasets by the ICT sector - especially by "Young Talents” - on the other hands it promotes the use of open licences (E.g. Creative Commons) by cultural heritage institutions. Therefore, various activities and events are taking place. Firstly, in an analysis the needs and the current state are defined. Secondly, based on this analysis a series of workshops and webinars is offered. The training program is aimed at “Young Talents” in the ICT field and at cultural institutions. It goals are to create a climate of innovation. Finally - in fall 2014 - a hackathon is organized. During the Hackathon "Young Talents" in the ICT field develop applications based on freely accessible and reusable cultural data.
